Kandace A. (Deisher) Carpenter, Attorney at Law & Mediator

Kandace A. (Deisher) Carpenter is the owner and co-founder of The Law Office of Carpenter & Deisher, LLC. Her practice focuses on family law, estate planning, bankruptcy and collaborative law. Mrs. Carpenter is licensed in the states of Maryland and Georgia, as well as before the U.S. District Court of Maryland. In her practice, she represents clients throughout Washington, Frederick, Carroll, Allegany and Garrett Counties. Additionally, Mrs. Carpenter is an active member of the Maryland State Bar Association, American Bar Association, Maryland Association for Justice, and Maryland Volunteer Lawyer Services. Mrs. Carpenter is also a certified Mediator.

Mrs. Carpenter earned her Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, in Political Science from Oklahoma State University. While at OSU, she served as a member of the Student Judiciary Council, responsible for adjudicating student honor code violations and other disciplinary matters. Mrs. Carpenter then earned her Juris Doctor from George Mason University School of Law. While attending law school, Mrs. Carpenter assisted first year law students in developing their legal writing and research skills as a Writing Fellow for the George Mason Legal Research, Writing and Analysis Program. Additionally, she served as the Vice President of Marketing & Outreach for the Trial Advocacy Association through which she represented the University in local and national level trial competitions.

Prior to establishing the firm, Mrs. Carpenter served as General Counsel for an IT consulting and software development firm based out of Rockville, Maryland. In her position, she managed all corporate legal affairs, including contract negotiations and ensuring compliance with all government solicitation regulations and corporate disclosure requirements. Additionally, Mrs. Carpenter successfully maximized productivity on client programs by establishing clear expectations and proactively communicating with stakeholders.

Mrs. Carpenter appreciates and understands that every client’s circumstances and needs are unique. She is committed to personally working with each of her clients to gain a thorough understanding of that client’s specific needs and tailoring her services to obtain the most favorable results, under the circumstances of the particular case.
